Zero 'Painkiller'

Nov 2021 by Route One

Like the hardy perennial that flowers year after year, Zero Skateboards are back once again with their new video 'Painkiller' and they're still ticking all the important boxes; VX, big rails and classic rock. What's not to love!?!

With a team consisting equal parts legends and new blood it's almost impossible for this to fail. So it should come as no surprise that Jamie Thomas' boys have pulled it out of the bag again with a release that comfortably walks the line of staying true to the brand's roots (and audio-visual back catalogue) without accidentally stepping into hackneyed pastiche territory.

Opening with a slam section that that is timeless in its brutality, Reggie Kelly soon takes the reigns and justifies his opening act status with some serious stuntage. The likes of Chris Cole, Kurt Hodge and Tommy Sandoval all make stellar appearances before Kanaan Dern shuts things down with a two song closing part that has to be seen to be believed. Trust us when we say that it's a brave, brave man that has the balls to step up to using 'November Rain' but Kanaan has that bravery in spades.

This is a classic Zero video and Kanaan is a classic Zero pro, that's all we have to say about that!
